MTSU Out of the Blue: July 2018

The July 2018 edition of the “Out of the Blue” television magazine show from Middle Tennessee State University, available to watch above, features conversations about the university’s new Data Science Institute, Blue Raider football program improvements, and renaming the School of Journalism with:

• Dr. Charles Apigian, chair of the Department of Information Systems and Analytics in the Jones College of Business and interim chief of the Data Science Institute, who discusses the potential for interdisciplinary research and public and private collaborations around the emerging field of “big data.”

• MTSU head football coach Rick Stockstill, who explains program improvements already successfully implemented and more underway to bring Blue Raider football to the highest level of collegiate athletics.

• Dr. Greg Pitts, director of the newly rechristened School of Journalism and Strategic Media in the College of Media and Entertainment, who discusses the program’s sharper focus and relevance in a changing media environment.

Along with viewing online anytime, you can watch “Out of the Blue,” with host Andrew Oppmann, on Murfreesboro cable Channel 9 daily at 7 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. and on NewsChannel5+ at 3:30 p.m. Sundays. “Out of the Blue” also is available as iTunes and Google Play podcasts and on other cable outlets in Middle Tennessee, so check local listings.
