Rush serves as a youth ambassador for No Kid Hungry, a campaign run by the national nonprofit organization Share Our Strength. The group’s activities include research, advocacy, education and providing meals for children during and after school hours and in the summer.

The Tennessee Justice Center in Nashville connected Rush with the No Kid Hungry program.

“I’m actually working on the ‘Breakfast After the Bell’ program to increase (school) breakfast participation in counties all across Tennessee,” Rush said.

“Last semester, I was doing a lot of research with the counties that were doing well with their breakfast participation and … also counties that were not doing well.”
