MTSU students raise education funds, political unity for Africa Nov. 20

MTSU students are turning their gaze toward Africa with an eye to funding education and promoting political discussion.

Students United for Africa and the Study of Africa, an MTSU student organization, will conduct a combination bake sale and yard sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, in the Student Union.

Proceeds from the sale will be donated to a nonprofit organization that helps fund education of children in Ethiopia.

The forum will focus on stereotypes and other barriers to unity among the African and African-American communities.

There’s no admission charge to either event, and both are open to the public.
