Nontraditional students to be honored at MTSU Nov. 19

Days of celebration of nontraditional students will culminate with a dinner honoring their accomplishments at MTSU.

Holly Thompson

The Nontraditional Student Week Dinner is slated for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the ballroom of the Student Union.

Holly Thompson, anchor/reporter for WSMV-TV, the NBC television affiliate in Nashville, will be the keynote speaker.

In addition to being a 1994 MTSU alumna, Thompson is an award-winning journalist who co-anchors “Channel 4 News Today” and hosts “Channel 4 News at Noon.”

Nontraditional students are adult students who are married, have children, work full time or have other responsibilities outside their education. The dinner will acknowledge their ability to achieve academic excellence while juggling complicated schedules.
