UPDATED 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25:
MTSU Panhellenic has canceled this year’s “Trick or Treat on Greek Row,” set for 5-7 p.m. today, Oct. 25, because of approaching heavy thunderstorms.
Leslie Merritt, director of MTSU’s Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life, said in a campuswide email at 2:30 p.m. today that “due to the continued threat of inclement weather, College Panhellenic will be canceling the Annual Trick or Treat on Greek Row scheduled for tonight.”
The event won’t be rescheduled because of other scheduling conflicts this week, she added.
“All groups are encouraged to donate their candy to a children’s philanthropy,” Merritt said in her message. “We look forward to hosting the event next year.”

Lions and monsters and heroes, oh my! MTSU’s Fraternity and Sorority Life members are ready to welcome their young Murfreesboro neighbors for free Halloween fun Tuesday, Oct. 25, at the annual Trick or Treat on Greek Row.
Set for 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 25, the event, sponsored by MTSU’s College Panhellenic Council, is open to children aged 12 and younger at the houses on Greek Row.
They’re located at the corner of South Rutherford Boulevard and Alumni Drive on the university’s east border.
A campus map is available at https://bit.ly/MTSUParking.
Organizers are asking parents to park across the street, in the university’s Rutherford Boulevard Lot, and use the lighted crosswalk at the traffic signal to escort their children to and from the event.
Along with trick-or-treating, children can dress in their favorite costumes and participate in games created and supervised by MTSU students.
“This is one of our members’ favorite events to host!” says Leslie Merritt, director of MTSU Fraternity and Sorority Life. “They are excited to welcome our community members onto campus and provide area children a safe and fun trick or treating experience!”
Trick or Treat on Greek Row is hosted each year by the College Panhellenic Council with support from MTSU’s sororities and fraternities.
The College Panhellenic Council is MTSU’s largest women’s organization, comprising six sorority chapters under the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life in the university’s Center for Student Involvement and Leadership.
For more information on the event, contact Alex Hamilton, Panhellenic vice president programming, at anh2af@mtmail.mtsu or Merritt at leslie.merritt@mtsu.edu.
