MTSU closes Jan. 16 for MLK holiday, but King celebration planned; spring semester begins Jan. 17

MTSU will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, for the national Martin Luther King Jr. holiday

All offices and buildings will be closed that day.

One exception will be for the annual MLK Day Celebration and Candlelight Vigil, where the campus and Murfreesboro community come together from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. The event is organized by Campus Life.

Often open on weekends, the James E. Walker Library will be closed Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 14-15.

The university will reopen for business at 8 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17. Spring semester classes will also begin that day.
