MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — Middle Tennessee State University is unveiling a new Admitted Student Day to provide an early welcome to new prospective Blue Raiders and family members.
Admitted Student Day will be held starting at 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, with a number of opportunities —plus some perks — for students starting their MTSU careers in August once they complete their enrollment.

The day provides a chance for admitted students to learn about resources and academic opportunities, and to meet with representatives from campus offices. Newly admitted Blue Raiders should check their email for the link to RSVP coming to Admitted Student Day. Along with family members, more than 1,200 admitted students plan to attend.
Participants will check in and be welcomed in the Student Union, 1768 MTSU Blvd., the home base for the event, but eventually head to their academic colleges.

“New students who have been accepted into MTSU can participate in the first MTSU Admitted Student Day to prepare for their journey at MTSU,” said Gina Poff, MTSU New Student and Family Programs director. “The day provides a glimpse into what life as a Blue Raider will hold in store in a few short months. What an exciting way to celebrate being a new Blue Raider.”
Poff said the event “is also a way to prepare for the newly renamed New to Blue Orientation, formerly called CUSTOMS, by meeting early with many key campus resource staff, including their academic advising center staff in their college, MT Dining and MTSU Housing. Students will also be able to take care of special items such as connecting with the Honors College, MT One Stop, Daniels Veterans Center, Student Success and Disability and Access Center.”
Among the admitted student perks are access to early registration for the New to Blue Orientation, ability to pick up their Blue ID, obtain vouchers to dine in one of the campus eateries and receive up to three complimentary tickets for the Blue Raiders’ men’s basketball game against visiting Sam Houston at 2 p.m. in Murphy Center.
The University Honors College will welcome its newest class of Buchanan Fellows for a breakfast as part of the day’s events. The Buchanan is the university’s top academic scholarship.
