June ‘Out of the Blue’ jumps into the saddle for summer with horse science, international scholars, plenty of poetry

The June 2021 edition of Middle Tennessee State University‘s “Out of the Blue” TV magazine show is jumping into the saddle for summer with updates on the university’s Horse Science Program, news on how MTSU is serving its international students, and a visit with Murfreesboro’s poet laureate, who’s also an MTSU professor of English.

Join us this month to hear from:

• Professor Ariel Herrin, director of equestrian programs in the College of Basic and Applied SciencesSchool of Agriculture, and Horse Science Program instructor (and MTSU master’s alumna) Andrea Rego, who discuss the program’s new major and its nationally recognized student Equestrian and Stock Horse Teams.

Chelsea Able, coordinator of international students and scholars in MTSU’s Office of International Affairs, who explains how they’re working to make the campus community feel like home for these Blue Raider newcomers.

Amie Whittemore, Murfreesboro’s poet laureate and a professor in MTSU’s Department of English in the College of Liberal Arts, who shares what she’s learned in the first year of her appointment and how she’s combining her love of poetry and love for the community to encourage more involvement in the arts.
